Colour Matching - White / Ivory shoes - Natural / Artificial Light Colour matching shoes is an art not a science and as there will be differences in fabrics between the dyeable bridal shoes and the outfit being matched, the items will never be an exact match, but it will be extremely close. If you have a two-tone fabric the middle colour will be matched to. It is sometimes better therefore to provide a swatch of a single colour that you feel is the correct colour rather than the two-tone to ensure the colour match you require. For the perfect match, it is recommended that you purchase off-white or ivory satin shoes as they will give the best result. White satin shoes have a blue hue which affects the final colour result. For example if you wish to dye white satin shoes gold , the result will have a greenish hue to them (gold and blue make green)! Dyed items will look different from indoor to outdoor (natural lighting) as colour changes in different light settings. The presence of ultra-violet light in natural light cannot be avoided. Shoes and other accessories dyed beige, peach and taupe for example will take on a pinkish hue outside. In fact the colour will even appear different between shaded and direct sun light. It is usual to dye shoes to colour match in natural light.

Protecting your Dyed Shoes / Handbags Dyeable shoes are not water resistant and the dyes used are water soluble so, if your dyed items are exposed to water or heavy rain, the dye will bleed or stain. You can protect your dyeable bridal shoes with a water repellent spray. The shoes will not be waterproof but it will prevent staining. If you do treat your shoes after dyeing, the shoes cannot be re-dyed at a later date.
As shoes & handbags are dyed at the customer's own risk, it is usual for the customer to be asked to sign a disclaimer prior to items being dyed. This will cover the various elements that can affect the dyeing result, for example: The glue used in shoe manufacture often cannot be seen with the naked eye. All shoes are cleaned prior to dyeing but some spots cannot be removed and will only show up after dyeing. The dye will not impregnate glue, and as a result there may be patched where the dye does not take. If the swatch provided is of a different fabric from the shoe we cannot guarantee the match due to the different composition of the fabric. The dye used is water-soluble so will run in the rain. A water-protectant spray such as Kiwi will help to minimise runs but will not offer any guarantees. Silk is a natural fibre and as such may have minor variations due to the slub retaining more colour. This is a natural feature and should not be seen as defective. the colour result on bindings and trims may also differ in colour due to them being of different material to the base shoe / handbag.
