Services Available (Dyeing Options)

Buy & Dye
If you are confident with your style choice, know the shoe size you require and have more than 3 weeks before your event, you should use the Buy & Dye Service. This service takes around 21 days from receipt of your completed Dyeing Order Form, swatch and payment.

Try B4 U Dye
Iif you aren't sure about style or sizing use the Try B4 U Dye Service. Custom Dyed shoes are a bespoke order to your colour specification and therefore they cannot be returned. We have therefore provided the "Try B4 U Dye" option which allows you to check the shoes' fit prior to having the shoes dyed.

This service takes around 21 days from receipt of your completed Dyeing Order Form, swatch and payment, so please ensure you have allowed time for the despatch and return of the shoes for trying on in addtion to the 21 days required for the deing process. Please note, the cost of returning the shoes to us once you have tried for size, is borne by the customer.

Express Buy & Dye
If you are confident with your style choice, know the shoe size you require but have less than 3 weeks before your event, you should use the Express Buy & Dye Service. This service takes 7 working days from receipt of your completed Dyeing Order Form, swatch and payment.

Super Express Buy & Dye
If you are confident with your style choice, know the shoe size you require but have less than 1 week before your event, you need the Super Express Buy & Dye Service. This service takes 3 working days from receipt of your completed Dyeing Order Form, swatch and payment. This service is not available on-line and is only available on Rainbow Club products, please ring us on 01335 347713 if you require this service.

Once Worn (including 2nd Dyeing)
If you have now worn your shoes and would like to have them dyed, you should purchase a "Once Worn" Dyeing Option. If the shoes have already been dyed once, as long as you have not used a protective spray on them, you can have them dyed again, this is also a "Once Worn" Dyeing Option. Please note, the cost of returning your worn shoes to us, is borne by the customer. We advise that black is the best colour for "once worn" dyeing, particularly if the shoes have already been dyed.

Else branded Items

Else branded items include dyeing in the price, apart from white satin childrens shoes which cannot be dyed. Therefore although the same options are available and timescales remain the same, the pricing for the various dyeing options available differs for Else branded items.

If you require standard dyeing you need to select "Buy and Dye - Else" from the Else Dyeing Option drop down when selecting your shoes / handbag, i.e. you need to select a colour where appropriate, dyeing option and shoe size before adding your item to the shopping cart. Then check out and make your payment and we will e-mail the Dyeing Order Form and instructions to you. Complete the form as described and send it back to us together with your fabric swatch. Click here for a copy of the Dyeing Form.

If require the Try B4 U Dye, Express Dyeing or Worn Dyeing options with your Else shoes or handbag you need to also add the relevant Else Dyeing Upgrade to your shopping cart before cheking out. Click here for the Else Dyeing Upgrades.

There is no separate "Once Worn" dyeing option for Else branded items. If you require this service on Else shoes or handbags simply purchase the "Once Worn" dyeing option from the Dyeing Options page.

Dyeing Orders Process

If you are purchasing shoes / handbag from any brand other than Else and require your shoes / handbags to be dyed simply add the relevant shoes / handbag plus the relevant Dyeing Option to your shopping cart, check out and make your payment. We will then e-mail the Dyeing Order Form and instructions to you. Complete the form as described and send it back to us together with your fabric swatch. Click here for a copy of the Dyeing Form.

Your swatch should be a piece of fabric a minumum of 1" square. If you do not have an appropriate swatch a piece of ribbon or reel of cotton can be used. We cannot send any paper or plastic items to our dyeing departments to use for colour matching.

On receipt of your form and swatch (and payment if this has not been completed on-line) we will process your dyeing order and the dyed items will then be shipped to you in line with the leadtime relevant to the Dyeing Option you have purchased, e.g. 3 weeks for a standard order.

Colour Matching - White / Ivory shoes - Natural / Artificial Light

Colour matching shoes is an art not a science and as there will be differences in fabrics between the dyeable bridal shoes and the outfit being matched, the items will never be an exact match, but it will be extremely close.

If you have a two-tone fabric the middle colour will be matched to. It is sometimes better therefore to provide a swatch of a single colour that you feel is the correct colour rather than the two-tone to ensure the colour match you require.

For the perfect match, it is recommended that you purchase off-white or ivory satin shoes as they will give the best result. White satin shoes have a blue hue which affects the final colour result. For example if you wish to dye white satin shoes gold , the result will have a greenish hue to them (gold and blue make green)!

Dyed items will look different from indoor to outdoor (natural lighting) as colour changes in different light settings. The presence of ultra-violet light in natural light cannot be avoided. Shoes and other accessories dyed beige, peach and taupe for example will take on a pinkish hue outside. In fact the colour will even appear different between shaded and direct sun light. It is usual to dye shoes to colour match in natural light.

Multiple Shoe Orders

Dye multiple items at the same time!
As dye batches may differ slightly, if you require multiple pairs of shoes dyeing, we advise that they are all dyed at the same time to enable the same batch of dye to be used on them all. We cannot guarantee an exact colour match to previously dyed items for items sent separately.

Discounts!
We do offer discounts for orders which include over 3 pairs of shoes all being dyed. To find out more please ring us on 01335 347713 or e-mail us at enquiries@weddings2go.co.uk.

Protecting your Dyed Shoes / Handbags

Dyeable shoes are not water resistant and the dyes used are water soluble so, if your dyed items are exposed to water or heavy rain, the dye will bleed or stain. You can protect your dyeable bridal shoes with a water repellent spray. The shoes will not be waterproof but it will prevent staining. If you do treat your shoes after dyeing, the shoes cannot be re-dyed at a later date.

Dyeing Form / Disclaimer

As shoes & handbags are dyed at the customer's own risk, it is usual for the customer to be asked to sign a disclaimer prior to items being dyed. This will cover the various elements that can affect the dyeing result, for example:

•  The glue used in shoe manufacture often cannot be seen with the naked eye. All shoes are cleaned prior to dyeing but some spots cannot be removed and will only show up after dyeing. The dye will not impregnate glue, and as a result there may be patched where the dye does not take.

•  If the swatch provided is of a different fabric from the shoe we cannot guarantee the match due to the different composition of the fabric.

•  The dye used is water-soluble so will run in the rain. A water-protectant spray such as Kiwi will help to minimise runs but will not offer any guarantees.

•  Silk is a natural fibre and as such may have minor variations due to the slub retaining more colour. This is a natural feature and should not be seen as defective.

•  the colour result on bindings and trims may also differ in colour due to them being of different material to the base shoe / handbag.
